Job Description

Love sport? Have a thirst for travel and big experiences? Passionate about building effective relationships with suppliers around the globe?

If this sounds like you and you are ready to take the next step in your career, the Mike Burton Group is the place to be.

Working in partnership with England Rugby, The British & Irish Lions, Team GB and the Australian Open Tennis Championship, we create fan-led travel programmes and experiences to the biggest events in the world.

We have a great opportunity to join our accommodation and ground transport team as one of our Co-ordinators, sourcing, procuring and delivering exceptional accommodation and ground transport services across our event portfolio so we can deliver the most exciting and rewarding product and fan experiences possible.

Working to operationally deliver supporter travel programmes for some of the highest profile global sporting events, you will work closely with our chosen hotel and transport suppliers to build effective relationships that allow you to successfully co-ordinate service requirements for your assigned events. All with the aim of providing an amazing holiday experience for the most important people we work with – our customers!

What we are looking for:

  • A flexible, operationally minded person who’s highly organised with an interest in the travel industry
  • A love for building effective relationships both within and outside of the business to help you achieve your aims and objectives
  • A desire to negotiate with our suppliers to ensure the best possible outcome for our customers
  • A positive self-starter that tackles problem solving head on
  • A flexible approach to work and happy to work weekends and evenings, where required
  • A great team player, happy to ‘help out’ in other areas that will only grow your experience and opportunities
  • Experience in the accommodation industry, procurement and operational delivery would be great but it’s not essential
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  •
  •

What you will be getting involved in:

  • Co-ordinating accommodation, meeting and events (M&E) and ground transport (coach, car, train) products for your assigned events
  • Researching, sourcing and negotiating the best possible financial and contractual offers with our suppliers
  • Researching and presenting product and destination information
  • Proactively finding solutions to potential inventory and/or logistical issues
  • Co-ordinating supplier contracts making timely decisions regarding payments, amendments, cancellations and or additional requirements
  • Liaising with other members of the team and suppliers to help promptly address and answer queries from our customers to ensure we deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Undertaking regular worldwide travel as required for the purposes of familiarisation and/or operational event delivery
